CONCLUSION
The unemployment rate in South Africa is very high at 53.6%, among the youths (Unemployment, youth total, n.d.) , which have just graduated, and the unemployment rate is unknown as many individuals in the country engage in agriculture as their job, and working in the agriculture field cannot be entirely considered as being employed. Nevertheless, with the unemployment known to be high in both countries and with the low standard of education in both countries shows that the standard of education will affect the rate of unemployment in both countries. Thus education is key to solve unemployment in both countries. Curriculum in education plays an important part to ensure that individuals are ready and skilful enough to enter the local working market. If the standard of education in a country is high, the unemployment rate in that country will generally be lower since good education will allow students to have the skills and knowledge of which is necessary to have when they come out to work, hence finding them a job. Similarly, if the standard of education is low in a particular country, students will be unprepared to join the workforce. In this case, employers might be unwilling to employ youths that lack skills they are searching for, since staff that lack such skills might hinder the progression of their businesses, or even bring losses to their company. This will then lead to a higher unemployment rate. As seen, the standard of the curriculum affects the standard of the education, and there is in turn a direct relationship between the education and the unemployment rate in a country.
This only applies to those who both receive education and find a job in the same country, since we are unable to see how the education qualification of foreigners will determine if they are able to find a job in a country that is not their homeland. Hence, we can infer from South Africa's high unemployment rate that South Africa’s education is poor and inefficient in preparing students to enter the working force. In order to counter this issue, the teachers will have to be trained better, to be prepared and knowledgeable about the content that they would be teaching in schools. In order for this to happen, more training programmes can be invested in by the government to provide the teachers with more knowledge. This will allow teachers to know what they are teaching well. With this, the knowledge imparted to the students can then be accurate, allowing the students to understand the topics well. Not only so, the teaching staff have to be able to equip the students with skills that are highly sought for and practical in the society.
Since the aim of education is to give and to improve an individuals knowledge to ensure that one is able to find a job and hence ultimately raise his standards of living, it is necessary to give students the skills that employers are looking for today. It is hence important that employers, education providers and students understand one another's expectations and needs. The educating team and employers then need to work closely to invest and design a curricula fitting the business needs and establishing lessons or courses that focus on building a particular set of skills that is relevant in the working market while working toward formal qualification. Only so, can the education standard can be greatly improved in the near future. This can then ensure that the skills students who just graduated have align with the needs and wants of the employers in the local labour market, getting them employed and working, therefore improving the situation of high youth unemployment in South Africa and Ivory Coast.
